| The Beam Energy Scan (BES) program at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider aims to study the QCD phase diagram in a region where a critical point may exist and has been studied by STAR at energies from 7.7 GeV to top RHIC energy. In this talk I will show highlights of what has been learned so far, and outline the future BES-II program planned for 2019-2020. The upgrades that will highly enhance the program, namely the iTPC, the Event Plane Detector, and the possible additional TOF coverage will be discussed.
